Game terms plus a full index of every card printed in the Rip Legends set.

Game terms

Active creature — The single creature in the battle position that can attack and be attacked.
Bench — Up to 5 creatures waiting behind your Active creature. They can only be hit by attacks that name the Bench.
Energy — The resource attached to creatures to pay for attacks and retreat. You may attach 1 per turn. Attacks that name an element need at least one Energy of that element attached.
Trophy cards — Six cards set aside at setup. Claim one each time you down an opposing creature — claim all six to win.
Downed — A creature with damage counters equal to or above its HP. It and everything attached go to the discard pile.
Retreat cost — The Energy you discard to swap your Active creature with a Benched one, once per turn.
Ability — A printed effect that works without attacking. Unless it says otherwise, you may use it once during your turn.
Apex rule — When an Apex creature is downed, your opponent claims 2 Trophy cards instead of 1.
Stage — Basic creatures can be played straight from hand. Evolved and Apex creatures must be played onto the creature they evolve from.
Finish — The print treatment of a card — Standard, Reverse Holo, Holo, Prism Holo, Full Art or Gold Secret.
Serial — The number printed on each card, e.g. 2/12 — the second print of that character out of twelve that will ever exist.
